Designed by John James Clark and constructed in 1890, the hall features a prominent clock tower and classical architectural elements. In 1939, the building was extended to include a reception hall and additional offices, reflecting Gympie's growth as a major service town. The complex also includes the former Gympie Maternal and Child Welfare Clinic, established in 1926, and a rare Art Deco men's toilet block from the 1920s.
