Gorge Day Visitor Area

Perched atop Mount Buffalo Gorge, the Gorge Day Visitor Area offers breathtaking views over sheer granite cliffs and the Ovens Valley. Visitors can explore the historic Mount Buffalo Chalet, built in 1910, and enjoy easy walks like the Gorge Heritage Walk, which features interpretative signs and leads to lookout points overlooking Crystal Brook Falls. The area provides picnic facilities, including accessible amenities, and ample parking. During winter, the carpark at the Gorge Day Visitor Area is closed; parking is available at the Mount Buffalo Chalet, with a short walk to the Gorge lookouts and toilets.
