The Glenorchy Golden Years Club, located at 314 Main Road, Glenorchy, Tasmania, has been a cherished community hub for seniors, offering a variety of activities and services. In November 2024, the club announced its closure due to declining membership and committee support, ceasing operations on December 17, 2024. Following the closure, the Glenorchy City Council sought expressions of interest for a new head tenant to continue providing valuable services to the community. As of March 2025, the council is in discussions with potential lessees to repurpose the facility for community programs. During this transition, existing groups continue to utilize the space, ensuring ongoing community engagement.
