Werri Beach, NSW

The Kiama Coast Walk is a 20-kilometre trail from Minnamurra River to Gerringong's Werri Beach, featuring diverse landscapes and coastal views. The path includes sealed paths, grassed tracks, and beach walks, suitable for most fitness levels. Highlights encompass Minnamurra River, Cathedral Rocks, Bombo Headland, Boneyard, Kiama Blowhole, Little Blowhole, Werri Lagoon, and Werri Beach. Dogs are permitted on-leash for most of the walk, with off-leash areas along the way. Facilities such as public toilets, drinking fountains, and barbecues are available at various points. The walk is divided into three sections: North (8.5 km, 3 hours), Mid (5 km, 1.5 hours), and South (6 km, 2 hours). The South section, from Loves Bay to Werri Beach, is the least populated, offering exposed clifftops, rainforest remnants, and ocean views. New signage along this section provides information on local wildlife, landscapes, history, and culture. The trail is well-maintained, with route markers and interpretative signs along the way. For safety, some parts of the walk are along unprotected cliff tops; children should be supervised at all times. It's recommended to check weather conditions before setting out, as some sections may be impassable after heavy rain. The walk is free to access and does not cater for people with access needs.
