Gaffneys Creek

Nestled in a steep valley at the junction of Gaffneys and Raspberry Creeks, Gaffneys Creek is a historic mining locality in Victoria's mountainous terrain. Established in 1859 following significant gold discoveries, it once thrived with a population of about 1,000. Today, the area is sparsely populated, with a few residents and remnants of its gold mining past, including miners' cottages and stone retaining walls. The Gaffneys Creek Recreation Reserve offers a tranquil setting beside the bubbling creek, surrounded by steep mountains, providing a glimpse into the area's rich history.
