Nestled at the corner of Hunter and Baker Streets in Chewton, Free Food Foragers is a grassroots initiative dedicated to sharing knowledge of wild food and fungi in the Mount Alexander area. Founded in 2014 by Ingrid Button, the organization offers weekly seasonal foraging workshops and cooking classes year-round. Participants learn to identify and harvest wild edibles, gaining hands-on experience in foraging and preparing free, nutritious meals. The workshops are suitable for all ages, fostering a community spirit centered around self-sustainability and the enjoyment of nature's bounty.
