Adjacent to Yarraman Creek, it features one of the largest intact River Red Gum woodlands in the area, providing habitat for diverse native flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy activities such as bushwalking, cycling along the Eastlink Bike Trail, and bird watching. The reserve also includes a playground, picnic areas, sports ovals, tennis courts, and a dog off-leash area. Community engagement is encouraged through regular working bees and planting days organized by the Friends of Fotheringham Reserve Environment Group.
