Established by local residents Kelly and Sally, the initiative transformed a disused bowling green into a vibrant space where community members cultivate organic produce, share gardening knowledge, and foster social connections. The farm operates as a market garden, selling homegrown products most Sundays and hosting free weekly gardening workshops and working bees. Open to the public on Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm, Fawkner Food Bowls also offers membership options, providing discounts on produce, events, and seedlings. Their mission focuses on enhancing local food security, promoting social cohesion, and building community resilience in the face of climate change.
