Situated approximately 6.3 km southwest of Rocky Point and 644 km northwest of Cooktown, it offers a tranquil environment. The area is bordered by Albatross Bay to the south and the Mission River to the west, providing picturesque waterfront views. Approximately half of Evans Landing's land is utilized for industrial purposes, while the remainder remains undeveloped, preserving its natural charm. The locality is named after geologist Harry Evans, who discovered bauxite deposits in the Weipa area.
