Emu Heights is a tranquil suburb located approximately 3.8 kilometers southeast of Burnie in Tasmania's North West region. Nestled along the Emu River, it offers a serene environment with a population of around 180 residents. The area is characterized by a mix of residential, light industrial, and environmental management zones, reflecting its diverse land use. Emu Heights is well-connected by the C112 route (Old Surrey Road), providing easy access to the B18 route (Ridgley Highway) and the Murchison Highway. The suburb's name is derived from the Emu River, which was named in 1827 by explorer Henry Hellyer after observing emu tracks in the vicinity.
