Edith Falls, known as Leliyn in the local Jawoyn language, is a picturesque series of cascading waterfalls and natural pools within Nitmiluk National Park, approximately 60 km north of Katherine. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the paperbark and pandanus-fringed plunge pool at the base of the falls year-round, though swimming may be restricted from November to April. The area offers bushwalking opportunities, including the 2.6 km Leliyn Trail, which provides a challenging loop with a chance to swim in the upper pool, and the longer 9 km return walk to Sweetwater Pool, a tranquil swimming hole. Edith Falls also serves as the finishing point of the 62 km Jatbula Trail, a renowned walking track that begins at Nitmiluk Gorge. The campground features lush, grassy sites in a scenic bush setting, with facilities such as a kiosk, gas barbecues, picnic tables, toilets, and showers. Entry fees apply, and camping fees are payable at the kiosk. Please note that during the wet season, access to the park may be restricted, and swimming conditions can change rapidly.
