Located 17 kilometers south of Collinsville in Queensland's Bowen Basin, Drake Mine is an open-cut operation producing up to six million tonnes of hard coking and thermal coal annually. The mine utilizes existing infrastructure at QCoal's nearby Sonoma Mine for processing, with coal transported via railway to the Abbot Point Coal Terminal for export. Established in 2014, Drake Mine employs approximately 390 people and holds a mining lease valid until 2044. The site is situated within the Whitsunday Regional Council area, with the Birriah People recognized as the traditional owners.
