Disappointment Bay, located near Wickham on King Island, Tasmania, is a picturesque 1.6 km long, north-facing beach. Bordered by the eastern granite base of Cape Wickham to the west and the low granite Rocky Point to the east, the bay curves gently along the coastline. The area has been enhanced with a new road, walkway, improved parking facilities, and a shelter, making it more accessible to visitors. Despite these developments, the beach remains tranquil, offering opportunities for swimming, walking, surfing, and relaxation. The name "Disappointment Bay" originates from the tragic wreck of the convict ship Neva in 1835, where many lives were lost.
