Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve, established in the 1880s, spans 11 hectares in the heart of Ipswich. This urban bushland offers bushwalking loops ranging from 200 to 800 meters, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in native flora and fauna. The reserve features picnic facilities, a nature-based playground, and a totem landscape art installation honoring its cultural significance to Traditional Owners. Notably, the area has a rich history, with Triassic period insect fossils discovered in the 1890s and former coal mining activities. Please note, public access to the water tower has been closed indefinitely.
