Passenger services ceased in 1954, and the line was officially closed in 1966. Today, the former railway route has been transformed into the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, offering a scenic path for walking and cycling enthusiasts. The trail provides access to the old Darlington Railway Station platform, allowing visitors to explore this piece of Western Australia's railway history.
