Located in Carlton North, Dancehouse is Australia's only presenting and producing house dedicated solely to the year-round presentation of dance by and with independent dance artists and communities. Established in 1992, it offers three versatile spaces: the 104-seat Sylvia Staehli Theatre, an Upstairs Studio, and a gallery, all available for community-driven, not-for-profit, and corporate initiatives. Dancehouse hosts curated performance seasons, residencies, masterclasses, and events, including Melbourne's biennial Dance Massive festival and the Keir Choreographic Award. It also presents the biennial Dance (Lens) festival, Australia's premier screendance event.
