CSA Mine, located 11 kilometers northwest of Cobar in New South Wales, is one of Australia's highest-grade copper mines. At a depth of 1.9 kilometers, it ranks among the nation's deepest underground operations. The mine produces approximately 40,000 tonnes of copper annually, which is processed on-site and transported 700 kilometers by rail to the Port of Newcastle for export to Asian smelters. Operating continuously, CSA Mine employs around 500 people, many of whom reside in the local community of Cobar. The mine's history spans nearly 150 years, with its name reflecting the nationalities of its original owners: Cornish, Scottish, and Australian.
