Established in 1968 by Wollongong's Macedonian community, Cringila Lions Football Club is a cornerstone of the Illawarra Premier League. The club's home ground, John Crehan Park, is a multi-use stadium located on Merrett Avenue in Cringila, New South Wales. The venue boasts a capacity of 7,500 spectators and features a grandstand with undercover seating for 1,100, a small function room behind one goal, and a secondary ground. In 2024, the park underwent a lighting upgrade, enhancing its status as a leading football ground in the region. The Cringila Lions continue to foster local talent and promote the sport within the Illawarra community.
