Located in Cowra's cultural precinct, the Cowra Regional Art Gallery opened in October 2000, aiming to foster appreciation for visual arts within the community. It offers a dynamic program of changing exhibitions, including in-house curated projects and significant touring exhibitions from state and national sources, featuring a diverse range of contemporary art and craft practices. The gallery's collection includes the Calleen Collection, initiated in 1977, and the Olive Cotton Collection, comprising key works by the renowned Australian photographer. Additionally, it houses significant heritage items related to the Cowra POW Camp. The gallery also offers a unique range of greeting cards, art magazines, art books, local history publications, and unique gifts, including handmade bags, textiles, colorful glass platters, and jewelry. It is a cultural facility of the Cowra Shire Council, a member of Regional and Public Galleries, and Museums NSW.
