Coowonga is a rural locality in Central Queensland's Capricorn Coast, approximately 14.9 km west-southwest of Emu Park. The area is characterized by coastal hills and is about six kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and the nearby township of Keppel Sands. The region is known for its primary production activities, including grazing and fruit-growing. Notably, Coowonga is home to the Koorana Crocodile Farm, established in 1981 as Queensland's first commercial crocodile farm. The locality has a population of around 255 residents.
