The Collins Cap trail, located just outside Collinsvale, offers a 5 km return walk suitable for families and walkers of all ages. The well-constructed path, though steep with a climb of over 500 meters, is easily followed. Starting at the Myrtle Forest picnic ground, the trail crosses a bridge over Myrtle Forest Creek, leading to the picturesque Myrtle Forest Falls after a 15-minute climb. As the trail ascends, it transitions from rainforest to a sub-alpine environment, culminating in panoramic views of the Derwent Valley and the Mount Wellington Plateau from the summit at 1,098 meters.
