The Clunes School of Mines, established in 1892, was initially a brief educational institution for miners, closing in 1893. Over the subsequent 118 years, it has served various purposes, including as a meeting place for the County Women's Association and the Australian Natives Association, a mattress factory, and an infant welfare centre. Managed by Working Heritage since June 2011, the building has undergone multiple conservation projects, such as preserving its original wallpaper and adding modern amenities at the rear. Currently, the interior is closed, and the venue is available for hire.
