The Childers Historical Complex, located at 2 Taylor Street, Childers, Queensland, offers a captivating journey into the region's past. Established in 1988, the complex features a collection of historical buildings, including a schoolhouse, a cottage, and a general store, each furnished to reflect life in the early 1900s. Visitors can explore displays of early pharmaceutical history, Aboriginal artefacts, and agricultural equipment. The picturesque rotunda, built in 2002 using materials from local landmarks, serves as a unique venue for special occasions. The complex is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 pm, and Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children, with children free when accompanied by a paying adult. Please note, the buildings are not wheelchair accessible, though the rotunda is.
