The Chichester River, a perennial stream in New South Wales' Hunter region, originates in the Chichester Range below Barrington Tops and flows southeastward. Over its 42 km course, it descends 1,240 meters, joining the Williams River at Bandon Grove, north of Dungog. The river is impounded by Chichester Dam, which supplies water to the Lower Hunter region. The surrounding Chichester State Forest offers free camping and picnic areas, with activities like bushwalking, swimming, trail biking, and four-wheel driving. Dogs on leads are permitted.
