Chasm Creek is a coastal locality situated approximately 6 kilometers east of Burnie in Tasmania's northwest region. The area is characterized by its proximity to Bass Strait, with the creek itself flowing northward into the sea. Historically, Chasm Creek was the site of the Rutherford Copper Mine, which operated in the early 20th century. Today, the area offers a tranquil rural setting, with residential properties along the Bass Highway and George Street. The community is small, with a population of 68 recorded in the 2016 census.
