CFA VEMTC Central Highlands Campus

The Central Highlands Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre (VEMTC) in Ballan is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to preparing emergency services personnel for real-world scenarios. Spanning nearly 40 hectares, it features live fire simulations, firefighting props, an off-road driver training track, and specialist training and breathing apparatus facilities. The campus also includes four classrooms and an off-road driver training track that replicates various conditions crews may encounter in real emergencies, such as water crossings, sand crossings, rough and uneven ground, mud, and steep gradients. The facility is designed with environmental sustainability in mind, utilizing Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) for fire-based training scenarios and implementing an on-site water management system that captures, treats, and reuses training water.
