Centenary Square

Centenary Square, located in the heart of Parramatta, is a vibrant civic space that seamlessly blends historical significance with contemporary design. A recent $5 million revitalization introduced a unified ground plane of Australian granite, contemporary seating, and an illuminated fountain, enhancing its role as the city's civic center. The square hosts the Parramatta Farmers Market every Wednesday, offering fresh produce from the Sydney basin and regional NSW. Additionally, it serves as a venue for various community events, including Lunar New Year celebrations, featuring street food stalls and cultural activities. The square's design also incorporates moveable planters with native trees and grasses, contributing to urban heat reduction and providing a cooler, more comfortable environment for visitors.
