Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm

The Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm, located near Portland in southwest Victoria, is a significant contributor to Australia's renewable energy landscape. Completed in 2008, this 58 MW facility comprises 29 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2 MW, collectively generating approximately 200 GWh of electricity annually. This output is sufficient to power around 35,000 households, while also preventing an estimated 195,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year. The wind farm's construction provided a substantial economic boost to the local community, creating numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities. Additionally, extensive re-vegetation programs have been implemented to promote native flora and enhance biodiversity in the area.
