Built in 1842 by explorer Hamilton Hume for his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hume, the homestead features distinctive octagonal rooms designed for both comfort and defense. Visitors can explore the beautifully maintained gardens, home to the oldest elm trees in Victoria. The on-site brewery crafts a variety of boutique beers, wines, and ciders, all available for tasting and purchase. The café serves fresh meals, including morning teas, ploughman’s platters, and light lunches. Guided tours of the homestead are available, providing insights into its rich history and unique architecture. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM, with the kitchen serving until 3 PM.
