Butchers Creek is a rural locality in Queensland's Tablelands Region, covering 27.8 square kilometers and home to approximately 85 residents. Situated on the eastern edge of the Atherton Tableland, it is one of the few areas that drain eastward, with its creeks being tributaries of the Mulgrave River. The region receives high rainfall, supporting dairying and beef fattening industries. The area is rich in history, with the Butchers Creek State School celebrating its centenary in 2013. Notably, Nobel laureate Alexander Prokhorov was born here.
