
Bungama is a rural locality situated approximately 6 kilometers east of Port Pirie in South Australia's Mid North region. Serving as the southern gateway to Port Pirie, it connects the Augusta Highway (Highway 1) to Warnertown Road and is intersected by the Adelaide-Port Augusta railway line. The area is characterized by expansive plains to the west of the Southern Flinders Ranges. Notably, Bungama is home to a regional 275kV electricity substation operated by ElectraNet and hosts the world's first vanadium flow battery.
