Brown Hill Creek is a picturesque suburb located approximately 8 kilometers southeast of Adelaide's city center, within the City of Mitcham. The area is named after the creek that flows from east to west through the locality, which itself was named after Brown Hill, a prominent hill rising immediately southeast of Mitcham village. The creek valley south of Brown Hill is home to Brownhill Creek Recreation Park, a protected area established in 1972 to provide recreation opportunities and conserve remnant aged river red gums and the riparian zone habitat. The park has been a site for recreation since the late 1800s, offering a serene environment for residents and visitors alike.
