
Braunstone is a rural locality situated south of Grafton on the Orara Way in northern New South Wales. Covering an area of approximately 48.73 square kilometers, it is part of the Clarence Valley Council region. As of the 2021 census, Braunstone has a population of 284 residents. The area is characterized by its rural landscape, with a median age of 50 years. Historically, Braunstone was the site of a Native Police barracks during the 1850s, located at Police Flat near the Orara River. The North Coast railway passes through the area, and a now-closed railway station was provided from 1915.
