Booran Reserve

Booran Reserve, located at 1051 Glen Huntly Road, Glen Huntly VIC 3163, is an award-winning park that offers a variety of amenities and attractions catering to diverse interests. The park features a unique water play area with a surface splash pad and water jets, a giant 10-metre-high double dome rope climbing net with a slide, a giant bird’s nest swing, dual flying foxes with all-abilities access seats, a 5-way swing, in-ground trampolines, an oversized mouse wheel, imaginative sensory play areas, cubbies, a two-tiered sandpit, and a water pump with gates flowing into a rock-lined trickle stream. Additional facilities include basketball and netball rings, a multi-purpose hit-up wall, walking paths, picnic shelters with BBQ facilities, tables, seating, and toilets. The park is on-leash for dogs. Booran Reserve was created from the decommissioned Caulfield Service Reservoir and opened in 2017, retaining many unique elements of the old reservoir, including the perimeter walls, bluestone plinths, and central 'sluice gate.' The art wall around the perimeter walls tells the story of water in a local context, from the tale of Tiddalik the Frog and indigenous people’s connection to the land through to the development of water infrastructure in Melbourne.
