Located in the Southern Flinders Ranges, the Booleroo Steam & Traction Preservation Society showcases one of Australia's largest collections of antique steam engines, tractors, stationary engines, and farming equipment. Established in 1968 by local farmers, the society aims to preserve and restore machinery that highlights the technical advancements of a bygone era. Visitors can explore a fully functioning blacksmith's shop and view unique exhibits, including a 1912 Fowler Road Locomotive, believed to be the only one of its kind remaining worldwide. The annual rally, typically held in late March, features live demonstrations and a Grand Parade, offering a vibrant display of these historic machines in action. The museum is open by appointment, with tours available for groups and school excursions.
