Boobyalla, located in Tasmania's north-east, was once a bustling shipping port during the late 19th century, serving as a hub for tin exports from the nearby Mount Cameron mines. The Boobyalla Post Office operated from 1875 until its closure in 1927. Today, Boobyalla is a ghost town, with remnants of its past, including the old wharf, still visible at the edge of the silted-up Boobyalla River. The area is now privately owned, with the main residence situated at the end of the former Hurst Street.
