Situated near Lake Carcoar, south of Blayney, New South Wales, Blayney Wind Farm comprises 15 Vestas V47-660kW turbines, each standing 45 meters tall with a rotor diameter of 47 meters. With a total capacity of 9.9 MW, it generates sufficient electricity to power approximately 3,500 average Australian homes annually. The wind farm, commissioned in October 2000, was developed by Pacific Power International and constructed by Consolidated Power Projects Australia at a cost of A$18 million. It stands above Lake Carcoar and the Carcoar Dam, a popular recreational area. A public viewing area and interpretive centre are open to visitors.
