Nestled beneath 20-meter-high vegetated bluffs, Black Rock Beach offers a 750-meter stretch of medium to coarse sand, creating a steep beach face with deep waters immediately offshore. The Black Rock Life Saving Club, established in 1913, overlooks the beach from atop the bluffs, providing a panoramic view. Amenities include a car park and picnic area just south of the clubhouse. The beach is bordered by sandstone reefs, which break higher waves, especially at low tide. Facing southwest, it experiences seasonal shifts in wave climate, with summer southerlies moving sand up the beach and winter westerlies shifting it back south.
