Bevan's Cactus Nursery, established in 1966, is one of the largest cactus nurseries in the southern hemisphere, featuring approximately 2,500 varieties of cacti. Many plants are over 100 years old, with the oldest nearing 150 years. The nursery also showcases a rare collection of opals, including black gem, crystal, grey, and white opals, as well as doublets, triplets, and mosaics. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, it welcomes visitors year-round and caters to large groups. John Bevan, the only locally born and bred tour guide in Lightning Ridge, conducts non-commercial town tours.
