Established in 2017, Bedlam Bay Community Garden is a collaborative green space nestled between the former Gladesville Hospital site and the Parramatta River. This community-driven initiative features raised garden beds filled with food-safe soil, supporting a variety of edible plants sourced from local nurseries. Endemic species are strategically planted to enhance the local bird corridor, while repurposed cherry barrels and fruit trees—including pomegranate, finger lime, and olive—add unique charm to the garden. The Happy Hens, a dedicated volunteer group, manage the garden, fostering community engagement and sustainable practices. Visitors are welcome to explore and participate in gardening activities, contributing to this vibrant and inclusive outdoor space.
