The Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre offers an immersive journey into Tasmania's rich mining history. Housed within the historic Grubb Shaft engine house ruins, the Centre features over 10,000 artefacts, many of which are interactive, allowing visitors to touch, see, and hear the past. Exhibits include a simulation of the 2006 mine rescue, a collection of restored steam engines, and displays of daily life from bygone eras. The Centre also offers a self-guided 1.8 km "Walk of Gold" trail through Beaconsfield, providing deeper insights into the town's heritage. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, it's a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
