Barrett House, located at 6 Barrett Place in Randwick, is a heritage-listed residence that has been transformed into a showcase of sustainable living. The house features energy and water efficiency measures, a permaculture garden, and waste minimisation strategies. It also serves as a creative space, offering fully subsidised studio residencies for artists working across various disciplines. The house was bequeathed to Randwick City Council by Harrie Sylvia Barrett, daughter of filmmaker Franklyn Barrett, with the condition that it be maintained as a community resource.
