Awabakal Nature Reserve

Awabakal Nature Reserve, established in January 1978, spans 228 hectares of coastal heathland between Dudley and Redhead. The reserve features diverse habitats, including coastal heath, perched lagoons, creek catchments, and remnants of rainforest. Visitors can enjoy walking tracks like the Awabakal Coastal Walk, which traverses the reserve from Dudley to Redhead, offering scenic views and opportunities for birdwatching and wildflower photography. The Awabakal Viewpoint provides expansive coastal vistas, ideal for whale watching and observing various bird species. The reserve is accessible from Dudley via Ocean Street and from Redhead via Alison Street.
