Established in 1904 by local market gardeners, the Athelstone Football Club, affectionately known as "The Raggies," has a rich history in Australian Rules Football. Originally playing at Maryvale Road and Addison Avenue, the club relocated to Foxfield Oval in 1971 and then to its current home at Max Amber Sportsfield on George Street, Paradise, in 1976. After 45 years, the clubrooms were replaced with a state-of-the-art facility in 2022. The club offers training sessions for various teams, including Senior Men's, Women's, Inclusive, and Masters, fostering a welcoming environment for all members. In 2024, the Inclusive team achieved an undefeated premiership in the APM SANFL Inclusive League, highlighting the club's commitment to inclusivity and excellence.
