Antica Australis, located at 2 Belubula Street in Carcoar, NSW, was a regional Italian slow-food locanda that brought the soul of Italy to rural Australia. Hosted by Paolo and Kelly Picarazzi, it offered a five-course set menu inspired by the ancient region of Ciociaria in central Italy, using local Australian seasonal produce sourced directly from boutique producers. The dining experience was a fusion of Ciociarian and Carcoarian flavors, served alongside stories that connected guests to the rich cultural heritage of the dishes. Reservations were essential, with prepayment required to confirm bookings. Antica Australis closed its doors in Carcoar in November 2024 and has since relocated to Italy to focus on their travel brand, Antica Travel Co., hosting cultural adventures in Ciociaria.
