Aldinga Bay Surf Life Saving Club, established in 1978, is a dedicated volunteer organization located on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, approximately 50 km south of Adelaide. Serving a 5-kilometer stretch of coastline from Aldinga Beach to Sellicks Beach, the club conducts regular patrols on weekends and public holidays during the summer months, ensuring the safety of beachgoers. With over 372 members ranging from 5 to over 80 years old, the club offers training in beach and surf safety, first aid, and life skills. Additionally, it provides opportunities for youth to develop life skills, build social networks, and strengthen their sense of purpose and belonging. The club also operates the Silver Sands Beach Club, a restaurant that serves as a community hub. Recognized as one of the region's premier beaches, Aldinga Bay attracts over 300,000 visitors annually. The club's mission aligns with Surf Life Saving Australia's motto of "Vigilance and Service," emphasizing its commitment to community service, aquatic rescue, and character-building activities.
