Abermain, NSW

Established around 1917, the Abermain Eisteddfod is the longest-running eisteddfod in New South Wales and the only one still operating within the Cessnock local government area. Founded by the Methodist Church under the guidance of Mr. Robert Hanley, who remained a committee member until his death in 1955, it has been an integral part of the Abermain community's culture. The 2025 (108th) Abermain Eisteddfod features categories such as Dance (Troupes and Solos), Vocal & Instrumental, and Speech & Drama, with events held at venues like Abermain Plaza Hall and Saint Phillip’s Christian College.
