Woronora Dam, completed in 1941, is a heritage-listed concrete gravity dam located approximately 50 kilometers south of Sydney. It serves as a vital water supply for Sydney's southern suburbs and the northern Illawarra region. The dam features a serpentine spillway and a 66-meter-high, 390-meter-long curved wall constructed with massive sandstone blocks quarried on-site. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas, walking trails across the dam wall, and scenic views of the reservoir and surrounding bushland. The site is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, with extended hours on weekends and public holidays during daylight saving time.
