Windellama Rural Fire Brigade

Established in 1942, the Windellama Rural Fire Brigade is a dedicated volunteer organization serving the Windellama community in New South Wales. Operating under the NSW Rural Fire Service, the brigade responds year-round to bushfires, grass fires, structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, and flood rescues. With over 100 members, the brigade is equipped with five firefighting appliances. In May 2022, nineteen members received the National Emergency Medal for their significant contributions during the 2019–2020 bushfire crisis. The brigade also hosts community events and engages in local initiatives to enhance safety and preparedness.
