Pearce, ACT

Located in Canberra's Woden Valley suburb of Pearce, the Pearce Community Centre is a not-for-profit organization offering office and activity spaces for various non-government organizations. These organizations provide information, activities, counseling, training, and referral services to children, youth, women, and individuals with disabilities. Unique in Canberra, the Centre is the only major community center not directly funded by the government. While the ACT Government has provided the buildings and land, the Centre independently manages its assets and administrative structure. A committee elected by tenant organizations oversees the Centre's operations.
